About Us

Founded in 2006 by Meredith Hodge and Katie Temple Keehfus, Hodge & Temple, PC has grown leaps and bounds due to the personal attention, knowledge and flexibility Meredith and Katie are able to provide to their clients. After working together at an Atlanta real estate firm, Katie and Meredith identified a niche that needed to be filled, thus forming Hodge & Temple, PC. Their focus was on creating a boutique firm founded on quality over quantity. Even as the firm has grown, Katie and Meredith make it a priority to have a hand in each file. This concept allows for personal attention from an attorney from the beginning to end of the closing process. With explosive growth in recent years, Katie and Meredith brought on attorneys Rebecca McArthur and Emily Broun. This has allowed the firm to continue to give clients, agents, and lenders the personalized attention that Hodge & Temple, PC has built its reputation on.

Understanding that a home is a family’s largest investment, Hodge & Temple, PC strives to make the closing process as stress free and efficient as possible. The team is available to answer questions before, during, or after your closing and promise to be responsive, organized, and conscious of the personal nature of the transaction.

After graduating from Wake Forest University and Brooklyn Law School, I knew that I wanted to pursue an area of law where I would face new, daily challenges and have meaningful interactions with people. I found that perfect balance with real estate. I began my real estate law career in 1998 and since then have worn every hat, including managing pre-closing, post-closing, bookkeeping, and document preparation tasks. The satisfaction of streamlining important and potentially stressful closing transactions inspired the formation of Hodge & Temple in 2006, a firm that would allow our attorneys to pursue a shared passion for helping people, while affording each of us the time to start our own families. I know a house is more than a home.  It is a financial and emotional investment, which becomes a part of who we are. I have had homes everywhere from Ohio to California, from Brazil to North Carolina.  I’m thrilled to now be making my home in Marietta, Georgia with my husband, Greg, and our two children, Charlie and Delaney.

Raised in Auburn, Alabama, I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating with a degree in English.  I quickly realized that real estate law would give me the ability to merge my love of reading with my joy of dealing with people on a personal level.  Atlanta became home while I attended Emory University School of Law. After graduation, I worked at a small real estate firm where I met Meredith Hodge. She was my mentor at the time and we decided we could give our clients a more boutique experience if we set out on our own.  Our business opened in 2006 and we strive every day to ensure that each customer is treated like my own family, which consists of my husband, two little boys, and our sweet home. We live in Morningside and love being a part of the community we serve.

Rebecca McArthur

Attorney

rebecca@hodgetemple.com  404.680.4136

Born at Northside Hospital and a graduate of the University of Georgia, I have strong roots in the Atlanta area.  After college, I moved back to Atlanta and worked in property management for three years prior to attending law school at Georgia State University.

Growing up with a real estate developer father, real estate was all I knew.  After law school, I worked for a large Atlanta firm in commercial real estate before realizing the personal nature of residential work was more my calling.  Unfortunately, a job with a residential closing firm was hard to come by in the market of 2007, so I joined Harry Norman Realtors to gain valuable experience on the other side of the table while waiting out the down market.

Four years of sales experience, two kids, and three home purchases of my own later, I have finally found the perfect fit with Hodge & Temple, PC.

Emily Broun

Attorney

I consider myself a true Atlanta native.  Born and raised in Marietta, I attended St. Pius High School followed by UGA for my undergraduate degree and Georgia State for law school.  My entire family is in real estate so it was only natural that I would find myself practicing Real Estate Law, and it is my joy to help people in the home buying process here in Atlanta.

My husband is also a lawyer and we have two small children.  I enjoy my time and home and in Atlanta, but also have a love of travel.  I studied abroad in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and South America.  With all Atlanta has to offer, from restaurants, the belt line and our wonderful sports teams—I am happy exploring here with my family these days.

After graduating the University of Georgia I began a career in Information Systems at The Home Depot, Inc. in Vinings. Over the course of my time there I had the opportunity to work not only on the IT side but also the business side supporting the merchants. I quickly realized that to be successful in such a large corporation it would require becoming fluent in a whole host of skills from project management to process improvement.

An unanticipated side effect of being in close proximity to so much DIY home improvement was a fast growth of  my love for fixing things up and general house projects that have helped to make all of our past houses our homes. My husband and I have lived from Dunwoody to West Midtown and now we’ve found our perfect neighborhood in North Buckhead. I’m excited for the flexibility Hodge & Temple, PC provides to allow me to be available to my two young boys and still be able to help the clients of Hodge & Temple begin their journeys to their new homes.

Born and raised in Stuart, Florida, and a graduate of Ole Miss, I’ve been all around the Southeast and am happy to now call Buckhead home. I’ve always had a passion for animals, both big and small and I enjoy spending time with my pup Jay-Jay.

Several years back I met Katie in the neighborhood and the rest is history. I’m excited to be part of the Hodge & Temple team and I’ve enjoyed learning the business from the ground up alongside such a capable, driven, and fun team.
